Mom’s Best BBQ Baked Beans
Serves: 6 Preheat Oven Temp: 350
2 cans (15 oz.) navy beans, (lightly seasoned) pork n beans or baked beans work best
4 bacon slices, cooked crispy and crumbled
1 small onion, diced
4 Tb. brown sugar
4 Tb. ketchup
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. mustard
1 Cook bacon slices until crisp and set aside on a paper towel to drain.
2 Saute the onions in a very tiny amount of the remaining bacon drippings until almost tender.
3 In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Stir until blended.
4 Add the beans, onions and bacon to the bowl and toss.
5 Spray a casserole dish with non-stick spray and fill with the bean mixture.
6 Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until bubbly. Remove and let stand for 10 minutes.
Great with a grilled chicken breast, or served as a cold side to burgers or dogs.
